Sales advice for the social web: Louis Gray on the smart way to build your online network

Featuring...

  • Louis Gray
Silicon Valley Blogger for technology geeks...
Leading social marketing blogger Louis Gray shares his thoughts on whether you should opt for quantity versus quality when building your online network:

It's very tempting to try and go out and get the largest audience you possibly can. It is often thought that the total number of followers, the total number of connections you have drives value. Any business owner knows that they're going to get the majority of their revenue from a handful of customers, or maybe a small percentage of those customers. And it makes sense to get to know the network who you're engaged. Find out who it is who's actively communicating, actually buying. And intentionally you want to take a look and find out more about these people. What is it they're saying? Where do they work? What do they do? Who are they influencing? Because if you can influence the right ten or 100 people, they will take your message outward to the 1,000 or 10,000 who may be feature buyers.
