Internet marketing tips: use your web press page to communicate direct with buyers

Featuring...
Typically, when your customers come to your business website, they are very aware that the written information you have on your homepage and product page is sales propaganda. Anyone looking for the 'real story' or background information on your business will often check recent releases on your press page.

In this new business television show, leading online social marketing expert David Meerman Scott explains how you can make the most of this fact to drive great web strategy results.

Many corporates and large organisations include a special page on their website where all media releases are published. The idea of a press page (sometimes also called a media room or a press room) is that members of the press can go to the page and see brand new or archival information about the company’s achievements, personnel, and products. Reporters for magazines, newspapers, TV, and radio can use this information to support pieces they are writing.

According to digital and social marketing expert Scott, however, businesses can leverage additional benefits for their internet strategy from their website press page.

In his online marketing tips on the show, Scott, explains this idea. Visitors to your site, he says, know that most of the information on your site is designed to sell your products. Your press page, however, is seen as differnt to the sales areas on your site.

So Scott recommends creating information designed specifically for your customers, not reporters and media workers, and posting this to your website press page.

The power of this web strategy, he says, is that you can communicate directly with your customers. You can share your story through your media releases, without having to go through media.

Scott expands on his online business advice and internet marketing tips in his business television show, which can be watched for free right here at yourBusinessChannel.
