Lazy communication costs time - Business development advice from Michael Souveroff

Featuring...

We surveyed more than two hundred business owners to ask them about the biggest challenges facing them today. One of the most frequently heard answers was, “I never have enough time in the day to get everything done.” We went out to 70 business development specialists with time management expertise to share their latest tips and advice. You can see their recommendations in free business television videos produced by yourBusinessChannel. Additionally, all viewers can ask their own burning questions to the business development specialists - just enter your details in the form on the right. In this clip, the business expert's advice is:

Clarity in daily business communication can make a huge difference in the ability to "find more time" in the day.

Too often, in both spoken and electronic messages, we cut corners, thinking that we're saving time when in fact it usually comes back to cost us valuable time later on.

For example, if you send a worker a short email that says, "Don't forget to create that invoice and send it to the customer on the West coast", a couple of things could happen.

The worker might send you back an email asking who the customer is and what the invoice is for.

Then you are forced to reply back and spell out the information more fully - something you could have done in the first place.

Or the worker might send out the wrong invoice to the wrong customer., also creating unnecessary work.

If you can slow down and be specific in your communication, it will help to stop you "running out of time".
